Funded positions for which we are actively recruiting will be advertised below.

We welcome informal enquiries from potential lab members, however unless responding specifically to an advertised position, external funding must be sought. Applicants will need to have considered their options for funding and be ready to apply for studentships or fellowships.

Current Vacancies

Prospective Post-Docs

Available funded post-doc positions will be advertised above under Current Vacancies. If there are no listed vacancies, then the lab does not currently have an open funded position.

Inquiries are welcome from prospective post-docs who have an idea for a project and wish to apply for externally funded fellowships. Applicants may wish to review the Departmental website for ideas of potential funding sources:

Please note that the Biology Department frequently limits the number of applications it will support for particular funding schemes.

Prospective PhD Students

Available projects for DPhil (PhD) students will be posted above under Current Vacancies. Unless specified, the lab does not have specific funding for these projects and interested students will need to seek their own support.

The University of Oxford offers a DPhil in Biology and has several funding sources for DPhil students which can be explored here:

Alternatively, students may wish to apply for the Doctoral Training Programme (DTP) in Interdisciplinary Life and Environmental Sciences. This involves an initial year of further training and rotation projects before beginning the DPhil proper, and comes with generous funding, but is highly competitive:
